Travel Finland through eyes of expat: blog about life, technology and places to visit

(scroll down for POST LIST)

Most people are lazy when it comes to planning a trip. Why bother conducting thorough research when you can simply type “10 most interesting places to visit in Finland” into the Google search box, and there you have it! However, though it may seem tempting, relying on search results does not always prove to be the smartest option. Why? Because – let’s be honest – regular “things to do in Finland” travel guides do not always have our best interest at heart. They usually direct us towards the most visited tourist spots like churches, museums or the remains of some old buildings. There is nothing wrong if you are into that kind of thing. But if you are anything like me, cliché historical sites mostly make you snore. Want to see Finland through the eyes of a resident? Then you have come to the right place! As an expat from Russia who has moved to Finland more than five years ago to work as a mechanical engineer, I can offer an inside scoop into the best Finland has to offer – from pristine nature to high-tech inventions.
