Winter

Many picture Finland as an endless white desert. The truth is – it is mostly related to Lapland. It offers a huge list of activities and if you are from the South, things would look really exotic. So in winter, consider going to Lapland instead of Helsinki.

Spring

In spring you witness, how nature and life in the cities are waking up. As the snow melts, the cafeterias start putting summer terraces and people spend more time outside.

Summer

In summer, Finland is full of life. To catch every bit of good weather, people gather up at summer cafeterias. It is also the time for open-air festivals and outdoors. If you want to spend your summer like a Finn – go to a summer cottage at a lake.

Camera and equipment used

90% of photos here are made with Canon 6D camera, which I think is one of the best options for a begginer travel photographer. It is one of the least-expencive full-frames on the market. It has outstanding Canon colors and great low-light performance. From disadvantages, I would like to point out relatively low dinamic range (which is still better than begginer cameras). Nowadays, used Canon 6D sells very cheap (for full-frame category of couse). New generation of full-frame camears start with 1000 Eur.

Mark I released in 2012 and Mark II released in 2017. Key advantages of Mark II: better focusing, tilting screen, more megapixels. Yea, in case you are still wondering, it is not a real bear. It is a screen in the museum.
